Douay-Rheims Bible

A Beautiful Bible at an affordable price

1403 pages, 8 1/4" x 5 5/8" x 1 3/8"
handsomely sewn hardbound in black imitation leather with gold-embossing

This beautiful, standard-size Douay-Rheims edition is based on the 1914 P. J. Kenedy & Sons edition, which was a reissue of the John Murphy Co. edition of 1899. The pages were scanned from the original edition and cleaned up. The durable, sewn construction will last for numerous readings. The attractive cover features a golden boarder surrounding the cross.

Since 1609 the Douay-Rheims Bible had been the longest standard Catholic text used in public readings as well as for private reflection, and as is known among those familiar with the history of this Bible, it was revised by Bishop Challoner in the eighteenth century to make the reading of it more understandable.

We believe this affordable, yet very durable, Bible should be a welcome addition to anyone’s personal library. It makes a great gift!
