Dupioni Silk — Purples

Dupioni silk is an excellent, and economical fabric for vestments and altar frontals, suitable as both a face fabric and as a lining.
Dupioni silk has a slight sheen, but it is not a shiny fabric. The slight stiffness to the silk gives enough body that a Gothic style chasuble, and even a cope, can be left unlined. This is a particularly attractive feature for hotter climates, as it produces a very lightweight vestment in a natural fabric that breathes. It will take machine embroidery well
Dupioni also makes a terrific lining. The classic nubby texture helps to keep the chasuble in place.
These purple shades include deep Violet, and Roman Purple.
