Let the awe-inspiring music of Mozart, presented by the St. Cecilia Choir and Orchestra, be a window into the depth and glory of this repertoire as it would have been originally presented by Mozart.
Each year on All Souls’ Day, November 2, people gather at Chicago’s historic St. John Cantius Catholic Church to attend the Latin High Mass and pray for the blessed repose of the souls of the faithful departed. The music that accompanies this poignant and beautiful Liturgy is the famous Mozart Requiem sung by the St. Cecilia Choir and Orchestra of St. John Cantius Church.
This DVD presentation of Mozart’s Requiem for All Souls’ Day inspires us to pray for the dead—one of the spiritual works of mercy. We hope that as you watch this DVD you will enter into the beauty of the Sacred Liturgy through the window of sacred music. The Gregorian chant, sung by the Schola Cantorum of St. John Cantius, and the awe-inspiring music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, presented by the St. Cecilia Choir and Orchestra, are a window through which you are invited to peer—that you might catch a glimpse of God’s glory.
