Recently an antique embroidered amice came through the St. Martha’s Guild for repairs. The design was so dignified and reverent that an immediate decision was made to recreate it. Available exclusively from Biretta Books, the amice is embroidered using an antique Cornely chain stitch machine - the embroidery workhorse of vestment makers for almost 150 years. Featuring an IHS in the center and embellished fleur-de-lis crosses in the lower corners, this amice is truly exquisite. It makes a wonderful ordination gift.
