Our Heavyweight Linen is a firm, tightly woven thick linen ideal for use as an altar underlayer. It is three times as thick as our premium linen, so it has wonderful padding characteristics to provide a softer and quieter surface as well as maximum absorbancy.  

Because of the thickness of this linen, standard folded hems will be too thick and bulky. Edges are best finished by serging or applying a seam binding. 

Please note: This linen does not shrink as dramatically as finer linens but we still recommend pre-washing if stability after laundering is required.
