The Lichfield Brocade was designed by F.W. Plaistow in the late 1940s. It uniquely combines two classic heraldic and devotional symbols: the English Rose and the French Fleur-de-Lys. The result is a visually rich and symbolically layered fabric, ideal for those seeking a brocade with both national and Marian resonance.
Lichfield’s clear repeat and strong central motif make it suitable for vestments and hangings where a bold, identifiable pattern is desired. It performs beautifully in both large and small pieces, working well with frontal cuts, chasubles, and stoles alike.
This brocade is available in a range of liturgical colors including Ivory, Blue, Red, Green, and Violet. Whether used alone or combined with coordinating trims, Lichfield adds traditional grace and clarity to any ecclesiastical textile project.
